We are proud to have partnered with TechnipFMC for the annual Houston Energy Day Festival to help encourage students to learn about energy.

Each year, thousands of children and families attend Energy Day to immerse themselves in STEM learning focused on the energy sector. In considering how TechnipFMC could enhance family engagement at their exhibit station while supporting ongoing learning from the event, they reached out to Nakira’s World to develop a valuable takeaway educational resource.

Recognizing the diverse age range of children attending, we had to create a resource for both elementary and middle school students. The outcome is the thrilling “Zap Into the Energy Zone” activity book! This vibrant workbook features over 20 hands-on activities, including mazes, matching games, coloring pages, and word searches. Each activity is designed to be educational and entertaining, offering options for both paired and individual exploration. With a focus on kinetic and potential energy, this book transforms learning about energy into an exciting adventure!

Interactive Puzzle Activation Table

We also hosted a puzzle activation table, where fun meets learning! This interactive experience is designed to boost cognitive and mathematical skills while enhancing fine motor abilities.

Interactive Learning Beyond the Classroom

The “Zap Into the Energy Zone” workbook reached hundreds of festival attendees, offering children and families an opportunity to engage with energy concepts in a new way. Due to its popularity, both kids and teachers returned to grab additional copies, extending the educational experience well beyond the festival grounds.
